Obama takes Mississippi

NBC News declared Barack Obama as the projected winner in the Mississippi primary on Tuesday, the latest in a string of racially polarized contests across the Deep South and a final tune-up before April's high-stakes race with Hillary Rodham Clinton in Pennsylvania.

As expected Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) has won the Mississippi primary. Of course, the "momentum" will continue to shift back toward Sen. Obama and away from Sen. Clinton now despite the fact that this was yet another expected development.

I find this quote from the above article somewhat interesting:



Six in 10 Obama supporters said he should pick the former first lady as his vice presidential running mate if he wins the presidential nomination. A smaller share of Clinton's voters, four in 10, said she should place him on the ticket.


Those are some interesting numbers. His supporters are more willing to see Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton on his ticket than her supporters are to see him on her ticket. Maybe there really is some truth to the rumor that some of Hillary's supporters might bolt for Sen. John McCain if Sen. Obama wins. Other opinions and interpretations are, as always, welcome.
